OrangeCountyVR, OC Unity, & Microsoft bring you the biggest, baddest Virtual Reality Hackathon ever! Team up and hack your way to some sweet category prizes. Get help from pro VR mentors along the way or sit in on an educational session to get you started. Don’t have a Rift? No worries, all the VR hardware and software you will need will be here.

Full Schedule

Friday:
6:00pm – Doors open
7:00 – OCVR Welcome
7:15 – Other World
7:25 – VRChat
7:35 – Epson
8:00 – Pitch session and team-formation.
10:00 – Adjourn till the morning.

Saturday:
9:00am – Check in and start hacking! (breakfast & coffee provided)
9:00 – Secondary pitch and team-formation (optional)
9:30 – Unity Workshop (optional)
10:30 – Kinect Workshop (optional)
11:30 – GearVR Workshop (optional)
12:30 – Leap Motion Workshop (optional)
1:30 – Allegorithmic Workshop (optional)
Afternoon – Work on prototypes in groups.
Evening – Keep working through the night.

Sunday:
8am – Check in and continue hacking! (breakfast & coffee provided).
Afternoon – Experienced VR mentors will come around to advise and assist groups on finishing projects (lunch provided).
3pm – Begin wrapup, share our ideas/designs with each other.
4pm – Final deadline for submissions, each team must provide a standalone build of the demo in order to be considered for the competition.
5pm – Awards ceremony.

Notes and Instructions

If you have your own Oculus VR Kit (or any other VR HMD), please bring it with you for the weekend. Also, bringing your own pillows or hack essentials is strongly encouraged. This includes your computer, drinks/snacks, change of clothes, cell phone charger, etc. The venue will be available for you to work through the night if you choose on Saturday only.

There will be no central theme this time, the only rule is that it must be a VR or AR experience. Teams may range in size from 1-6 people.

OCVR is not responsible for any disputes that may arise between members. Any materials developed at this event should be considered free to the public. OCVR encourages members to socialize, collaborate, learn from, and teach one another. Please be responsible, respectful, and positive in the spirit of mutual creative collaboration.
