First OCVR Meetup a Huge Success

Posted by | May 05, 2014 | Events | No Comments

On Thursday, May 1st, we had our very first Meetup event for OCVR and, honestly, it could not have gone any better. Our good friends at PeopleSpace finished construction in the nick of time and we packed the place with an estimated 150-200 VR Troopers. The team from Oculus made an un-announced appearance and demoed the DK2 along with about a dozen other local software and hardware mavericks including Darknet, SMS Racing, and many more. Burger-monster food-truck served up some scrumptious grub and cold beers (on the gratis) to a lively gumbo of tech nerds.

For our team, it was an incredibly rewarding experience that brought legitimacy to a lot of hard work. We met with a ton of smart people and chatted them up about the future of this incredible new medium.

Special thanks go out to Benjamin Lang from Road To VR for helping us spread the word; Karl Krantz from SVVR for making an appearance and offering our audience a generous coupon code; our good friends at PeopleSpace for hosting; and, of course, Brant Lewis and his team from OculusVR for spreading tech wonder with their amazing DK2.
